Photo Project 5 "WATER"

Before project 4 was even completed by most of us, CraftySue was ready for project 5, so theme was chosen and off we go to shoot.

So enter project 5 "WATER"

Photo can be anything to do with water, really no limitations on this, if you can think of any possible reason this relates to water, then go for it.

Project 6 will start on 1st sept, so hopefully some water entries will be in before then.

Photo Project 4 Results

Only 3 entries for the wood project.

CraftySue was first with

Sillyb next with a very unartistic

Finally Coyote, who obviously put some thought into his photo

So Kimbo Jones and Wakerider didn't give a photo for this project yet, but when they arrive I will post them.

On to photo project 5

Photo Project 3 "Night"

Photo project 3 took a little longer than planned, a few weeks longer... But with just 2 entrants it wasn't an issue. I took 4 sets of photo's and put 2 up, with the one below being the final choice. Sadly I still have not finalised the photo, and need to "vintage" it a bit more. But with project 4 now started it will be put on the backburner for a while.

Afternoon With a Coyote

Ok, so perhaps the title is a little misleading, but really it was quite an afternoon. Last Saturday I was lucky enough to spend the afternoon with Deane from Coyote Grafix (www.coyotegrafix.com).

Thankfully Deane was kind enough to keep still at the appropriate moments for me to snap off some shots of him.

We spent a few hours wandering around an old homestead on Lucernbrae, a farming property in the Adelaide Hills. We found a piece of old farm equipment which had been decommissioned years earlier, we both spent a while here imagining the photographic possibilities.

The photo above is probably my favorite of the day.

We then spent some time around an old building which has almost completely fallen down, the doorway looks like it will make an excellent spot for some model photography in the future. Sadly it was at this point that my broken CPL started becoming obvious, as you can see in this photo.

Down at the river (which has not flowed this year), there was some amazing shots waiting for us, but we were running out of time. I snapped off one of Deane again, and we made our way back to the car.

On the way back we stopped and Deane took some photo's of an old shearing shed, we will HDR these and upload them later.

Big thanks to Deane from Coyote Grafix.

Regards, your host. Sillyb

My Photo In Wedding Album

I got married in September, and in the rush of the day my wife didn't get a photo of her bag and shoes for the wedding album.
The photographer is in the process of preparing our album at the moment, and since my mother in law made this bag herself, we really wanted it in the album.

I set up my camera on a tripod in our dining room, with our piano and new lampshade as a backdrop. I tried several flash choices, I really think I could have done this better if I had used 2 flashes, one for ambient light, and one snooted for the bag and shoes, but I had limited time, so I connected my SB-800 with a TTL cable, and pointed it at the roof about 45degrees behind me.

The resulting photo's were pp'd and this is the one we chose. With more time I think I could have perfected this photo, but it was certainly a good learning experience.
